CNS’s goal is to provide you with the computing resources you need to do your work and to help you use them effectively. To that end, we offer online documentation for our many systems and services. We also maintain an interactive IT training system for UF faculty, staff, and students, and participate in various campus-wide training initiatives via the UF IT Training Committee. See www.cns.ufl.edu/tlc.shtml for more information.
DOCWEB. The CNS documentation system, DOCWEB, provides easy access to all CNS-related documentation. DOCWEB allows you to search, view, and print a variety of documents using your Web browser. Topics range from Accounting and AIX to utility programs and z/OS–and hundreds of topics in-between. You will find DOCWEB at http://docweb.cns.ufl.edu or by selecting “Documentation & Training” from the CNS Home Page. See www.cns.ufl.edu .
CNS News . CNS News, a service that sends you timely e-mail messages, can help keep you current on software upgrades, service updates, holiday schedules, new products, and urgent announcements. You can subscribe free to CNS News at www.cns.ufl.edu/news . Current and previous news articles can also be searched, viewed and printed from DOCWEB.
Handouts. CNS produces various documents with detailed information on specific computing subjects. These are available free at 112 SSRB. Most are also available online from the “Documentation and Training” link on the CNS home page or via DOCWEB.
/Update: Our Newsletter. CNS publishes /Update, an on-line newsletter, to help keep our users up-to-date with interesting and important developments. Articles of long-term value are added to the DOCWEB library. See www.cns.ufl.edu/update for subscription information, as well as current and back issues.
IT Connections. As a means to help foster communication, cooperation, and a sense of community among the various areas of UF’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), CNS edits and coordinates production of an on-line “UF-OIT newsletter,” IT Connections, containing highlights from each area of the OIT. Subscription information as well as current and back issues may be found at http://nersp.cns.ufl.edu/~oitnews .

We strive to create an environment where computer novices can feel
comfortable asking any question; and where more knowledgeable computer
users can be assured that their questions will be answered at an
appropriate technical level. So please, ask us anything. We want to help
you. It is important to us that interruptions in service be minimized by
correcting them as soon as possible. You can contact us at
<consult@lists.ufl.edu> or by calling 352-392-2061.
Questions about use or configuration of UF computing services can be
directed to the UF Computing Helpdesk at 352-392-HELP (4357). See http://helpdesk.ufl.edu for more
information.
In addition, any CNS user can create a trouble ticket to report broken or malfunctioning CNS services. It is tracked by CNS dispatchers and by CNS technical employees who support our systems. Simply click on the “report a problem” button on our home page.
