If your workstation is connected to the Internet (either via direct connection to the campus network, or through a dial-up connection), you can connect to CNS’ z/OS-based services using tn3270 to the address nermvs.cns.ufl.edu.

If you are working from an old-style IBM 3270-type terminal, type menu at the CNS VTAM IS ACTIVE prompt.

Once the connection is established, you will see the CNS main menu of services. Choose what you want by following the directions on the screen.

From the CNS main menu, you have several choices. Selecting SIGNON will take you to a sign-on screen where you enter your userid and password to access the CNS Interactive Services Menu.

See Connecting to CNS by Modem for information on connecting to CNS via a telephone dial-up.
