Abstract
Sending information via e-mail is a fast and easy way to send messages across campus or around the world. CNS’s central servers provide e-mail service for all UF faculty, students, and staff, as part of the UF GatorLink system. Those users whose needs exceed the limits allowed for GatorLink accounts can use CNS’s NERSP e-mail server; however, unlike GatorLink (which is free to the user), NERSP services are charged to the userid.

Sending information via e-mail is a fast and easy way to send messages across campus or around the world. CNS’s central servers provide e-mail service for all UF faculty, students, and staff, as part of the UF GatorLink system. Those users whose needs exceed the limits allowed for GatorLink accounts (http://help.gatorlink.ufl.edu/acctinfo.html)can use CNS’s NERSP e-mail server; however, unlike GatorLink (which is free to the user), NERSP services are charged to the userid.
CNS’s e-mail servers can communicate with a wide variety of e-mail programs for both GatorLink and NERSP. CNS runs both IMAP and POP servers, allowing customers to use remote e-mail clients such as Eudora, Netscape, Outlook Express, PC-Pine, or Mail Drop. For more information, please see http://www.cns.ufl.edu/dialup or CNS Document D0108, E-mail Choices at CNS and UF, available at http://docweb.cns.ufl.edu.
The Pine e-mail program is available on NERSP for users who need or
prefer to use that system. Pine provides menu-driven facilities for
e-mail, file transfers via e-mail attachments, and managing mail folders.
For more information, enter man pine on NERSP or see
CNS’S UNIX 101: An Introduction to NERSP (D0107)
handout available online at http://docweb.cns.ufl.edu.
Suppose your CNS userid is albert. People can send mail to you at your CNS e-mail address on NERSP.
NERSP address:<albert@cns.ufl.edu>
If your GatorLink userid were also "albert," then your GatorLink e-mail address would be:
GatorLink address: <albert@ufl.edu>
Note: Your NERSP userid may not necessarily match your GatorLink ID.
