Start-of-Term Load: Spring 2011

The CNS staff anticipates that computing systems load will be near or at capacity during the beginning of Spring term (January 3 - 11). During this time period, interactive processing in support of beginning-of-term administrative work and student-oriented processing (such as class-schedule adjustment and admissions) is our top priority. The system will be tuned to favor this type of work.

CNS is deferring our own internal computing work until after this peak period. We request that other units schedule their CNS computing work to avoid this peak period as well; of particular concern are reports/queries which use student data; these reports can often heavily impact the computing resources needed to complete real-time transactional processing. We appreciate your cooperation during this heavy work-load period.
