Can LISTSERV Stop Sending My Messages to My Brother’s Account?

Q:

I am writing from my brother's Compuserv account. Is there a way you could send the LISTSERV messages to me at my address instead of at my brother's? Also, I just subscribed today, is there a way I could get an e-mail on the past messages that were posted from the list? (T)

A:

If you want LISTSERV mail to come to your own address, you will need to subscribe to the list from your own account. And, you will want to unsubscribe from your brother's account so he will not continue to receive your mail.

From your own account, send an e-mail message to listserv@lists.ufl.edu. The body of your message should be:

subscribe lname firstname lastname

where lname is the name of the list and firstname and lastname is your name as you want it to be on the list.

From your brother’s account, send a message to listserv@lists.ufl.edu. The body of that message should be:

signoff lname

where lname is the name of the list.

If your professor has archived the list, you will find copies of past messages at http://lists.ufl.edu. If he did not archive the list, you will need to contact him or one of your classmates to get copies of older messages.

Thanks for writing to us. (tlvh)
