Bevis, Pokorney Promoted to Assistant Directorships

Two key technical administrators at NERDC, John Bevis and Dave Pokorney, have been promoted to assistant directors of NERDC. Bevis is a systems expert at NERDC and president of SHARE, the worldwide user group for IBM-based large-scale computing systems. Pokorney guides NERDC, and consults internationally, on networking technology.

Commenting on the promotions, NERDC Associate Director Marie Dence said, "This is very fitting. John and Dave are wonderful, long-term employees who are using their knowledge and skills to guide us into the new millennium."

Bevis joined NERDC in 1976 as a computer programmer II, while Pokorney transferred to NERDC from the CIS department in 1973 as a teleprocessing network technician.
